Alexa Engel, DMD, MS

Dr. Alexa is an orthodontist that brings high energy and a gentle touch to the clinic. Adept at working with patients of all ages from seven to 80, her three focus points are improved aesthetics, patient comfort, and efficiency. Combining those principles with a positive outlook and a fun atmosphere is the recipe for a successful practice that can build long-lasting relationships with patients, their families, and the community.

Residency and Training

Dr. Alexa Engel received her B.S. and Master's in Engineering from Southern Methodist University Lyle School of Engineering and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. She continued her professional education, receiving her Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Saint Louis University, Center for Advanced Dental Education, one of the top orthodontic centers in America. Dr. Engel is a board-certified orthodontist by the American Board of Orthodontics.

At Saint Louis University, Dr. Alexa was part of one of the most technologically advanced residencies in the country, combining traditional orthodontics and aligner systems with new 3D printing technology, laser esthetics, and temporary anchorage devices. She was also able to train under Dr. Maz Moshiri, one of the leading Invisalign orthodontists in America! She believes in the importance of staying current with cutting-edge technology and enjoys the many hours spent continuing her education. She recently completed the Aligner Intensive Fellowship, which provides the most recent advances in Invisalign® technology.

Alexa, a native of Greenville in the Mississippi Delta - known as “the most Southern place on Earth” is proud to be a native member of this welcoming community, rich with history and a love of the arts. After enjoying her time in the greater Jackson area for dental school and at Millsaps College, she is excited to be opening our new practice in Madison!

Dr. Alexa’s father and her mother Jan are very civic-minded, and she looks forward to continuing in their footsteps, giving back to the communities that she is so lucky to call home. Her sister Savannah, who is just as admirable and hardworking as her parents, has her own public relations firm in New York City called Savi PR.
