Meet Dr. Lee Engel
Lee Engel, DMD, MS
"For me, every day is a great day at Engel Orthodontics, and as a father I know how important it is for parents to find a provider they can trust. I feel very blessed to have met and treated so many amazing families in our community. I have been given a true gift - to have the opportunity to create all these beautiful smiles."
Dr. Engel found his love for leadership early, serving as an officer of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, vice president and president of the student government, and also serving as editor of his college yearbook.
After completing his dual undergraduate degrees at the University of Kentucky in biology and chemistry, Dr. Engel entered the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He graduated at the top of his class with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine, and he then accepted a commission with the United States Air Force Dental Corp as a Captain and practiced general dentistry at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Residency and Training
Dr. Engel entered the specialty program of orthodontics at St. Louis University, chaired by Lyle Johnson, one of the leading eminent 20th-century orthodontic educators. At St. Louis University, Dr. Engel graduated with a Master of Science in Orthodontics Cum Laude, graduating number one in his orthodontic class. However, his most prized honor was the J.P. Marshall Award given by the university faculty only when a resident was first in both clinical as well as academics.
Professional Affiliations
Dr. Engel is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. As a special honor from the College of Diplomates of the ABO, Dr. Engel was asked to teach a course for young orthodontists trying to attain Diplomate status.

Outside the Office
Dr. Lee Engel and his wife, Jan, are the proud parents of two daughters, Alexa and Savannah. Since first arriving in Mississippi as a new orthodontist, Dr. Engel's practice has grown from one office to four offices known throughout the Delta as simply, Engel Orthodontics, and he feels so blessed to be part of a community that has been so welcoming to him. He has always made it a point to give back and serve others, and has been a community leader for over 30 years.
